Refund Policy

1. The simple promise
14-day no-questions refund. If you subscribe to a paid DataAcuity tier and change your mind within 14 calendar days of the first successful debit, we will refund the amount in full to the card or account PayFast charged. No questions, no forms. Just email us.
2. Service-issue refunds
Outside the 14-day window, we still refund where the issue is our fault:
- Sustained outage that breaches the uptime SLA published on /pricing for your tier (99.5% Pro, 99.9% Enterprise). Credit is calculated pro-rata to the affected hours.
- A breaking change we shipped without the 30-day notice required by the Terms of Service, that materially broke your integration.
- A billing error on our side — double-charge, wrong tier, mistaken renewal after cancellation, etc.
Service-issue refunds are usually processed within 5 working days of the request.
3. What we don't refund
We don't refund:
- use beyond the 14-day window when you simply chose not to use the Service;
- cycles you already used — cancellation stops the next billing, but the current cycle is yours to use until its end;
- third-party data fees passed through (currently none, but flagged if any are ever added);
- PayFast transaction fees if PayFast retains them on a refund — these are typically R2–R5 per refund. We'll tell you the exact amount before processing.
Free-tier accounts have nothing to refund — there is no charge.
4. How to request a refund
- Email hello@dataacuity.co.za or use the contact form with topic "Payment issue".
- Tell us which subscription (the email on the account is enough) and the reason (one sentence is fine).
- We'll confirm within one working day and process the refund through PayFast. PayFast typically returns the money to your card within 5–10 working days.
- Your API key is deactivated when the refund is processed.
5. Annual plans
Annual plans (where offered) are refundable pro-rata within the first 30 days. After 30 days they are non-refundable but you can cancel future auto-renewal at any time.
6. Enterprise contracts
Enterprise customers are bound by their signed agreement. The refund terms in that agreement override this policy where they conflict.
